"We are all just one thin experience away from ending up on the streets."
Stuart Perlman, psychoanalyst, psychologist and artist, paints the experience of the homeless. Through portraiture, a style traditionally used to immortalize the rich, famous and powerful, Dr. Perlman reminds us that these individuals, too, are to be valued: "If we can see into their faces and learn their stories -- their hopes, dreams, accomplishments and fears -- we can no longer pretend that they don't exist...we can no longer look the other way."
Above paintings are oil on canvas, paintings are 5' x 4', 4' x 4' and 3' x 3'.
All paintings, photos and text; Copyright 2019
